Homelessness: A Real Issue

Going into this project, the most interaction I had with homelessness was volunteering at the Soup Kitchen in my home town, or bringing in canned goods to be donated to the Soup Kitchen. From only being in this project a few weeks I have realized that I do not know anything about homelessness and the local Soup Kitchen was just the tip of an iceberg in a sense of what a person could learn. Just going and volunteering you learn a little bit, but going and talking to people about their story and what they have gone through entirely in their life is a completely life changing experience. I’m excited for what people will learn about these people who are a part of their community and opportunities where they can impact their lives for the betterment of their community.
